The USA is a country in North America. In 1492 Christopher Columbus set sail to find a new route between Europe and the Orient and stumbled upon new and uncharted lands. Calling them the New World, his journey marked the beginning of a colonization effort that led to the forming of one of the most developed countries on Earth - the United States of America. Prior to the European settlers there were numerous indian nations living on the continent.
